NOTICE OF CAMPUS IDENTIFIED IN NEED OF A TURNAROUND PLAN
Dean Highland Elementary School has been identified as a campus required to develop a Turnaround Plan (TAP) for implementation in the 2025-26 school year. The campus is a TAP campus because of being identified as Academically Unacceptable campus for two or more years. The purpose of the TAP is to provide assistance for moving the campus out of School Improvement status.
The campus will have a parent/community meeting on September 22, 2025 from 6:00-7:00
The TAP for Dean Highland Elementary School will provide planning and implementation supports focused on these five areas based on the Effective Schools Framework:
- Strong school leadership and planning
- Strategic staffing
- Positive school culture
- High-quality instructional materials and assessments
- Effective instruction.
Waco ISD and Dean Highland Elementary School are asking for public input and assistance. For the period of September 22, 2025 thru September 30, 2025, please send your input to Principal Janice Whiting at Janice.whiting@wacoisd.org for the development of the Dean Highland Elementary School 2025-26 TAP.
